Mid-market luxury Retailer – Amongst the leading home decor and furniture brands from America, with its foundation, laid years back in 1979. They are a premier chain with more than 100+ stores across 30+ cities. What started as an enterprise to sell hardware items is now diversified into full-grown home decor and furniture stores. They sell their contemporary yet modern furnishings through Galleries, Outlets, and Catalogues.
Major Challenge
With so many galleries and outlets, expansion can act as a big hurdle in sales. The major challenge faced by people at Restoration Hardware was inefficiency in their POS(point of sales) system. Their stores were catering to varied people, in different locations, and geo territories. This created multiple concerns in quick sale conversions. Another issue that added to this pertaining obstacle was the lack of correct manpower who could solve this issue with the best possible practices of technology and practical usage.
The existing POS software could not accomplish its goals. There were various other integration, payment monitoring process, customer data management issues too. In totality, the entire modus operandi was creating issues for which they approached ProgileTech.
Solution
The initial step in this process was accessing their existing system, finding the loopholes, and establishing a fit POS system. Not only did we support this with our project management skills but also added staffing mechanisms that could efficiently operate the entire procedure.
The key strategy that was followed was divided into 5 steps:
Assessing the real state of the project and POS at teh company by rigorously evaluating it, its acquaintance with the employees, and finding the failures.
Setting accountability metrics and building a bit-by-bit process instead of a big bang approach.
Scheduling the project by apportioning the entire work into smaller but quantifiable metrics and breaking the tasks on an hourly basis. This also included tracking the progress every day by bringing in the right expertise, questions, and technical know-how.
Finding the right project managers, product managers, and e-commerce managers who could lead the entire project and drive the best results. Once found, implementing the staffing plan and executing the set plan.
Determining the software and technology and executing the complete plan.
A team of 8 people was formed and provided along with the Project manager. One of the major contributions was aiding the project with a project management bandwidth alongside the best manpower who kept the process intact. The project involved technology, rollout features, coordination and integration with existing systems, on-boarding vendors and people, user-familiarity, and user support.

Result
The entire project was worth 10+ million dollars and got completed in a time frame of 2 years.
The long-term vision of having an integrated POS system that works in every arena was achieved. The upgraded POS was compatible with EMV and even for overseas expansion. All the galleries and outlets now work on new POS, with having the least disturbance caused to the customers.
The new system enabled efficient data management about customers, expedited the payment process, and had a positive impact on the overall customer experience. The POS consumes minimal time in operation which allows greater time for customer interaction. With a major part of configurations controlled centrally, the entire procedure is consistent at every store allowing enhanced experience for both the employees and potential customers who come to the galleries. A robust and agile system is now in place, which improved the work in galleries.
The entire process went seamless as the staffing services provided by us were the best fit for companies challenges. The managers and other consultants streamlined the entire process and showed that our staffing mechanisms.
Also, around 30 consultants were placed in the organization for keeping the solutions intact. As a testament to our effective staffing, we are still working on various projects with restoration hardware. This longitudinal bond is what sets a professional IT staffing firm different from an amateur.
